We believe that education is a partnership between home and the school and we encourage parents to take a full and active part in the life of the school and their children’s education.
Home/School Agreements are issued to all families joining the school. They outline the responsibilities of the school, the parents and the child. Teachers, parents and children are expected to sign the agreements, which are kept in school as part of the child’s records.
Early in the school year teachers invite parents to a Teach-In at which they go through how their class will operate and the topics they will be covering during the year. The equipment children need will be explained including stationery and PE/Games kit.
Parents are invited to make a private appointment to discuss their child’s progress each term. School reports are sent home twice a year. Initially in the first half term of the school year indicating how each child has settled into his/her class; and secondly, a full, comprehensive report is issued covering all aspects of the curriculum and pastoral care in the summer term. These reports are sent out prior to the third teacher/parent consultation. Regular newsletters go out throughout the year, and each term a list of notable dates is issued for parents’ information.
