KS1 and EYFS
When your child brings home a book from the library, we do not necessarily expect that they will be able to read it completely indepdently. It is important that you have time together to share these so that the children can look at the words and pictures. As with all books the children bring home, talk about the type of book and the characters, if applicable. Encourage the children to predict what might happen next. Children will often take home the same book more than once and a reason for this is that they feel comfortable with a story they are familiar with.
The books from KS2 library have now been allocated across the classes to allow the books to be more regularly accessed by the children. Children are able to select books from the class bookshelves to bring them home in the exact same way that they previously would have from the library.
